ABOUT US

The UL Performing Arts program offers professional training within the context of a comprehensive liberal arts education garnering a broad field of study while grounded in core training. The program’s goal is to develop disciplined and versatile artists through balanced study within their chosen major, complemented and reinforced by a diverse range of theoretical studies and performance opportunities. The graduating student will be socially aware, entrepreneurial in spirit and able to successfully navigate an artist’s life.

The Performing Arts program at UL is a highly regarded program where exceptional faculty bridge academic and professional work. The faculty is comprised of a team of artists and scholars who have extensive professional performing experience and academic credentials. Working as an ensemble with aligned sensibilities and a collaborative approach, the faculty offers students an atmosphere where they are nurtured and stimulated in their quest for artistic achievement, technical mastery and scholarly excellence.

During four years as an undergraduate in the UL Performing Arts program, students have the opportunity to develop and refine their skills as actors, dancers, directors, choreographers or designers and continue wherever their inspiration and abilities lead them. The study of the performing arts at UL is intensive and the emphasis on liberal arts within a laboratory context is unique.
